8 Best Dropshipping Courses for 2021: Learn Ecommerce Fully Economically Posted on January 21, 2021Leave a comment

If you've landed here it's probably because you're looking to change your financial circumstances and have heard about dropshipping. Maybe you’ve seen those social media posts showing 6 or 7 figure store income and want to get a piece of the action too.

With so many Gurus all claiming to have the secrets to dropshipping your way to having millions in your bank account...How do you know which one to pick?

I have some experience with the dropshipping business model with 2 successful stores each generating 6-figures. Although that doesn't mean I'm about to tout myself any kind of dropshipping expert. This does give me a solid basis to share my opinion of these courses.

Most Importantly: I'm not an affiliate for any of these dropshipping courses. Meaning you can expect completely unbiased reviews because, unlike many dropshipping reviewers, I don't get paid if you buy the course. Before we jump into the courses, if you’re on the fence about dropshipping or looking for a business model that is recession-proof, check out my #1 recommendation, Local Lead Gen.

Back to our review. Now, for context, here are the criteria I look at when reviewing these dropshipping course options:

My goal is to help you figure which course is the best fit for YOU.

Every course has something different on offer and it will depend on:

At the very end, I'll explain what it takes to be successful as a drop shipper and how the business model compares with my #1 online business recommendation for 2021...Lead Generation.

But for now, let's see the dropshipping contenders battling it out for the top spot in the rankings:

8. Biaheza's Full Dropshipping Course

Price: $294

course logo for Bieheza dropshipping course

Biaheza was born in Belarus and moved to the States as a youngster with his family.

He's been an avid reader and student of all things business and entrepreneurship for years. He got his feet wet with fixing cell phone screens and selling online.

While he's really open about earlier failures and struggles, he hit the jackpot with dropshipping. And, you guessed it, decided to make a dropshipping course to share his knowledge. Although I genuinely think he does like to help people and if you watch his YouTube videos, he does actually share some good stuff...it’s not just about pitching his course or promoting his affiliate links.

Biaheza’s Full Dropshipping Course isn’t going to be a fit for everyone, it’s definitely aimed at the beginner and at someone who wants to take quick action without having to sit through a lot of chit-chat.

photo of Biaheza sitting in a teal chair on a balcony overlooking the beach

I have to give him some props though...Biaheza has picked up on the fact that a lot of people struggle getting started because they fail to feel like they’re making progress.

To his credit, Biaheza dives right into picking products and building a simple store to create quick wins and get his students a sense of accomplishment.

Lack of quick wins = lack of belief = giving up

While lacking the value of some of the better courses on the market, don't discount this just yet.

Biaheza is targeting a specific problem and that's getting folk up and running FAST.

He packs a lot of info into short videos...he talks so fast that it's kinda like watching on fast-forward. If you’re used to watching video’s on double speed, you’ll be right at home.

biaheza full dropshipping course training

BUT he explains and lot and gets you building a basic Shopify store and promoting it pronto here.

In the time it takes some courses to elaborate on the entrepreneurial mindset, with Biaheza you'll have a store up, running ads, and maybe even notching up your first sale or two.

biaheza full dropshipping course training screenshot

He covers what has worked for him in Facebook advertising, including setting up Facebook Pixel - vital for re-targeting the ones who got away.

He shares his Instagram tactics too and some of the basic legal wordings on his store to steer clear of problems.

Biaheza is fairly quiet on social media but his YouTube channel does offer plenty of value and offers a clue of just how sharp this young man is. cv

This course could be the right fit for you if:

7. Kevin Zhang's eCommerce Millionaire Mastery

Another interesting course on offer.

Zhang hails from a prestigious college and has a coveted internship from a world-class consultancy to boot.

Deciding against joining the corporate rat race on a 6-figure salary, he shocked his family and decided to jump into eCommerce in 2018 and teach himself everything he needed.

500k sales volume post from kevin zhang for ecommerce millioniare mastery

Quickly scaling to some huge numbers in sales volume, Kevin decided to share his knowledge by developing this course.

ecommerce millionaire mastery kevin zhang presenting at a conference

What I like about Kevin's material is how current it is - his strategies have been developed in the past year and his decision-making has a data-driven process behind it.

Zhang appears to have analyzed the dropshipping pain-points and bottlenecks that most people run into. He’s chosen to figure out how to remove or reduce those issues which sets his strategy apart from the majority of other programs.

ecommerce millionaire mastery kevin zhang lessons

For example, he has his own product fulfillment sources meaning he can trust the quality of the product he sells and has control over the shipping process.

One of the big selling points for this course, and IMO why it shouldn't be overlooked, is Zhang's students get access to his team if they want it.

That would save time and serious headaches for most people.

kevin zhang's team available through ecommerce millionare mastery

Arguably, there's more content in some of the alternative courses but I like Kevin's approach in his eCommerce Millionaire Mastery Course.

His content is fresh and he's teaching things that work right now from his experience.

When you look at the very elite at the top of business who are able to sustain that success and weather the storms that are inevitable, the majority of them are using data-driven processes to make smart decisions.

My only real reservation is there’s very little about him and social proof of his methods working long term. Anyone can post vanity metrics from their stores...heck, it’s what everyone does. If you’re looking for something fresh, this might be the course for you.

ECommerce Millionaire Mastery would be a good fit for you if:

6. Anton Kraly's Drop Ship Lifestyle

Anton has a highly credible track record in dropshipping.

Starting back in 2012, he generated over $3 million in revenue in just 3 years before selling off his online stores.

Now he just focuses on his online dropshipping course.

Interestingly, Anton clearly states that he doesn't like referring to his method as dropshipping at all.

He admits he only uses the terms to grab the attention of wannabe dropshippers.

Anton Kraly photo on a blue background dropship life course creator

Dropship Lifestyle is a very different approach to constantly chasing after the latest fads and trends like most dropshippers.

Instead, Anton promotes the idea of finding higher-ticket "evergreen" products that target the upper-middle class.

The logic behind this is simple:

Sell 1 x $1000 item is better than 1000 x $1 items.

There's a much bigger profit margin in the $1000 item and a lot less work to make one customer happy than 1000 of them. Plus, it gives more cushion for ad spend too.

Anton Kraly Dropship Lifestyle infographic about avoiding problem customers

Anton wants his students to target the upper-middle class because they have the disposable income to purchase higher ticket items.

Also, they don't tend to complain as much as the lower-income demographic and they don't expect as much customizing and the bespoke service that the super-affluent demand when they shop for expensive items.

Anton Kraly Dropship Lifestyle reasons for targeting upper middle class demographics

Anton is pretty strict on focusing on evergreen products.

Evergreen means they aren't seasonal and they are always going to be needed. Good examples are furniture and household items like sofas, tables, and light fixtures. Higher-end leisure items are also a good option and there’s a great example of a paddleboard and various upsells as part of the course material.

If you're serious about living the laptop lifestyle, make sure you understand what Anton is trying to teach his students here! Even if you choose a different course or go to another business model, this is a valuable message. There’s a certain sweet-spot of clients or customers who pay more but take a lot less work - it’s worth finding them.

Quality of work over quantity of work makes a ton of sense - especially if the income is equal.

I'm not saying this is the best course or even the right business model. But it's a crucial lesson if you want to build long-term income and wealth.

What else do we get with DSL?

There's a very detailed module on creating your Shopify store.

Anton Kraly Dropship Lifestyle Shopify set up process selecting themes

It guides step-by-step through designing a store.

And integrating it with Google to take advantage of analytics and Google Adwords.

Anton Kraly Dropship Lifestyle shopify and google integration

However, If you go all in and get the $9,000 package, there's some done-4-you options and a year's worth of coaching with Anton's team.

You can have a professional-looking store built to save time and get generating sales quicker, in theory.

If you poke around the DSL promo posts, there’s a lot of compliments about the quality of these stores.

I really like how you can reach out to Anton's team and have them audit your product choices to make sure they're Evergreen.

The evergreen concept isn’t exactly rocket science and if you're getting into dropshipping, hopefully, you can figure out for yourself if something is seasonal or a fad item that's going to have a limited sales cycle.

Still, it’s nice to be able to get some feedback and feel assured that you are on the right lines with your thinking and research.

One thing I like about Dropship Lifestyle is the tasks to complete at the end of each module help keep you on track. Anton can sound pretty stern about making sure you’ve done them before moving on to the next phase but it makes a lot of sense if you’re supposed to be putting the knowledge into action.

There's a tendency to sit and watch training videos without actually doing anything or understanding exactly what you should be doing.

Anton solves that by having a checklist to complete at the end of each module before going on to the next step.

Some of these tasks are lengthy but they're essential to getting results.

Finally, another bonus with DSL is the yearly retreat.

Anton Kraly Dropship Lifestyle retreat conference room with attendees sitting at tables

Anton throws in a free ticket as part of his Ultimate package.

And you have bonus access to some of the previous presentations as part of the DSL course. While not where I’d recommend you spend your time to start with, there are some good hacks in there for scaling and problem-solving.

For a closer look at DSL and Anton's fascinating journey, here's a full review.

5. Super Tan Brother's Elite eCommerce Mastermind

super tan brothers ecommerce mastermind logo with a group of people sitting together in a beautiful outdoor space

Steve and Evan Tan, who go by the moniker "The Super Tan Brothers" are real movers and shakers in the dropshipping world.

They are in-demand to speak at many of the top eCommerce conferences around the world and share their secrets.

They often reference 'aiming for the moon'.

As in going big!

That's certainly what they're producing in terms of sales in their stores.

ecom $6 million in sales volume instagram post from Steve Tan

Steve is the visionary of the duo and has been through many highs and lows as a solo entrepreneur.

In 2016, after finishing a degree in International Business, Evan joined forces with his brother and brought the much-needed processes, systems, and structure to compliment Steve's strengths.

Their eCommerce empire took off like a rocket and now they have several ecom-related businesses.

This 'course' is something unique...

This is less about online training to follow but more of a 6-month cohort with fellow high-level drop shippers.

It includes a retreat somewhere exotic to learn from the Super Tan Brothers and to network and learn from others who are on the same journey.

steve tan and evan tan ecommerce mastermind program

The entry bar to join the mastermind is set pretty high.

You're expected to be generating at least 1-5k PER DAY through your stores and have a can-do attitude.

Another big contingent is being ready to take immediate action on the concepts taught and scale fast.

You'll need to have capital ready to run with ads and other strategies.

And you have to time it right for when the mastermind registration opens up.

Super tan brothers Steve Tan and Even Tan standing in by a silver lambo and a white small private jet

If you follow their Instagram accounts or sign up for their free training, they'll send you a 'secret link' to register for the mastermind when it's available.

Each mastermind is going to relevant to the current state of affairs and dropshipping strategies at that time.

This course is going to be as up-to-date as it gets - in fact, I’d say there are probably some cutting-edge hacks being leveraged in those sessions.

I also like how Steve and Evan prioritize helping each student on an individual basis with one-on-one sessions to dig into your specific situation and understand how best to support you.

Super Tan Brothers Mastermind Course could be the right fit for you if:

4. Matthew Lapre's eCom Warrior Academy

Not sure if Lapre is intentionally creating some intrigue here with the lack of concrete information available before signing up for his eCom Warrior Academy or if he's just not fully mapped out the sales process yet.

Regardless, you have to sign up for a sales call by implying you're ready to "invest" a reasonably significant sum into your dropshipping education.

If not, you get redirected to an intro course for $49 (sometimes free if you time it right) helping prime you to be ready to spend bigger for access to eCom Warrior Academy.

Aka, if you're poor then this is out of your reach (for now at least).

Not until you get through most of the call script will they tell you that its "about $4,000".

So, who is Matthew Lapre, and what is this mysterious program?

eCom warrior academy matthew lapre sitting in a cool seat wrapped in tree branches

Lapre's from Australia and after following much of society's programming, he found himself emotionally crushed when he had to drop out of university, thinking his chances of a good life had been ruined.

He shifted his mindset and he wanted the freedom and independence of owning his own business.

In just 3 years, he's already on his way to building his own eCommerce empire.

Matthew is big now on teaching others to avoid the trap society sets with all the expectations of having to go to university and spending your life working to make someone else wealthy - you'll find plenty of great advice on his Facebook page.

He comes across as sincere in his desire to help people grow and he’s not afraid of sharing some of his vulnerabilities with his followers. It’s refreshing to see someone open up about their own struggles and it makes Lapre relatable to the average Joe.

ecom warrior academy matthew lapre with advice on focusing on one business

Perhaps born out of his desire to help others, eCom Warrior Academy has a bigger emphasis on mentoring than most of the other courses aimed at dropshipping beginners.

While Lapre teaches the video tutorials, his trusted sidekick Stallon Zayya handles much of the mentoring.

stallon Zayya profile breakdown mentor for ecom warrior academy by lapre

The tutorials are straightforward to follow and cover all the usual steps.

There's nothing groundbreaking with product research here.

BUT what they do differently is zeroing in on the most successful products and stores, reverse engineering why they work, and then dialing in the details to outperform them.

facebook advertising strategy module for ecom warrior academy

It's a very targeted approach.

You'll get hands-on mentoring, especially at the beginning.

In fact, Stallon holds frequent calls that any student can take part in to get help or just to network with other students for that sense of camaraderie.

Even your first product has to be approved by a mentor so you don't pick a dud and fail on your 1st attempt.

Overall, Lapre and Zayya seem very passionate about their student's success.

student success posts with sales numbers ecom warrior academy students

It's hard to know exactly what % are making big money but they're plenty of strong sales volume posts on their social media accounts.

Students are encouraged to set financial goals and pushed to stay on course to hit them.

Lapre is very open about drop shippers generally making 20-30% profit margins on average if they get it right.

Even if you don’t go with his course, it’s worth checking out the Facebook videos on his personal profile for some good general business and life advice.

3. Sarah Chrisp (Wholesale Ted)'s The eComm Clubhouse

New Zealand's Sarah Chrisp got into e-commerce as a young teen trying to escape a mind-numbing grocery store job with a boss that made her want to poke her eye out with a pencil.

sarah chrisp lounging with her laptop on a huge seat outdoors

Her first eCom foray was selling imported video games and she was soon hooked on being her own boss and the possibilities it brings.

She moved into the dropshipping and print-on-demand world and hasn't looked back since.

finding products to dropship on ecomm clubhouse coursee by sarah chrisp

A common thread with many dropshipping instructors is their desire to help people grow and learn entrepreneurship. Sarah is no exception and probably one of the most giving on the circuit.

Tune into her Wholesale Ted channel on YouTube and she provides top-quality advice and hacks.

Those YouTube videos also provide a good sense of her upbeat teaching style and down-to-earth advice on what it takes to be successful. #lifelessons

Sarah's transparency about everything, from what her course offers (and doesn't), to how she generates $10k a month, to the work required in this business provides a level of trust that she's not out to make a quick buck at the expense of her students.

She’s big into the affiliate marketing world and is more than willing to share some of her strategies on the Wholesale Ted channel. She had a spell with a digital marketing agency and it’s clear that she’s taken some of what she’s learned there and adapted it to enhance her dropshipping hacks and passive income channels.

example of an affiliate link for wholesale ted

She promotes having control over your TIME as real wealth and has some fun mocking the flashy lifestyle that many of her peers use to hook wannabe dropshippers.

Along with owning her own time, travel is Sarah's real passion.

She's been shrewd enough to take a downside of dropshipping (having to pay for products to be shipped ahead of receiving the income from customers) to play the credit card points game and travel luxuriously for pennies on the dollar.

Talk about turning lemons into lemonade.

Sarah Chrisp of The ecomm clubhouse and wholesale ted

So, can The eComm Clubhouse program open the doors to wealth through dropshipping?

The course is easy to follow - there's a PDF tutorial to help follow along with the videos which makes this much easier.

Sarah's ad spend is a bit on the cautious side but this is a beginner's course.

Once you understand what you're looking for, you can choose to scale at your own level.

The print-on-demand education is excellent and a very viable option for most people.

You'll learn how to create tasty designs that sell without needing any real artistic talent - and how to stay on the right side of the copyright laws too.

ecomm clubhouse print on demand design sarah chrisp

Sarah has experience with SEO, affiliate marketing, and has studied consumer psychology. She drops some golden nuggets on how to market and convert for your stores while remembering her target demographic here.

The downside to the course is the lack of support or mentoring - but, to be fair, she states very clearly in the promo video for the program that her focus is on keeping costs down and part of that is doing away with mentoring or detailed support channels.

There are monthly Q&As that are available to watch anytime but if you're stuck on anything other than a technical issue with the course, there's nowhere to turn for advice here.

She must be doing something right because Shopify has given The eComm Clubhouse their endorsement.

2. Adrian Morrison's eCom Success Academy

I absolutely love Adrian's backstory!

He's the true rags to riches story and highlights how impactful a supportive partner can be as an entrepreneur.

Despite being written off repeatedly as a youth and being stuck with washing cars for $5:15 an hour as his first job, guess who’s having the last laugh now (hint, his initials are AM, just in case).

His then-girlfriend, now wife, supported both of them financially until Adrian got his eCommerce empire off the ground.

Adrian Morrison and his wife with a lake backdrop

He ventured into teaching eCommerce earlier than most and was fortunate to build ties with Shopify which helped lend a lot of credibility to his online course.

Adrian has since gone on to build several eCommerce-related stores with his brother, Anthony. It sounds like Anthony pissed some people off early in his online business and he's since taken more of a backseat when working with his brother.

Many of these businesses are connected to eCom Success Academy or are additional plugins for Shopify stores with monthly subscription fees. The upsells and subscriptions are part of the territory these days as people look for more ways to monetize their customer base...just like dropshippers do with their own email lists or special offers.

images of Adrian Morrison company logos

Adrian has taken some flak for selling courses after he sold his own stores and exited the business model himself.

On one hand, with several businesses to oversee and a course to run, he probably has his hands full.

Still, if something is seriously that good at churning out income, why get out of it?

I'll let you decide what conclusion you wanna draw there.

photo of adrian morrison sitting on a private jet using his cellphone

eCom Success Academy was the very first Shopify course available. Many still consider it to be the best available and the Gold Standard by which all courses are compared.

This course has everything content-wise a newbie needs to get going and do some damage in the dropshipping world.

The course layout is easy to navigate and pleasant to the eye.

landing page for Adrian Morrison's ecom success academy

You'll find step-by-step instructions to build out your Shopify site and it's definitely one of the smoother delivery styles to follow along with.

There's considerable detail and every nook and cranny is covered here.

Not only with building your store but in other key areas too...

product sourcing training from ecom success academy adrian morrison

eCom Success Academy's product sourcing module covers everything from what to look for in products to negotiating with sellers.

He even provides over-the-shoulder training as you watch how he communicates with a vendor located in China to set up bulk dropshipping.

If you've seen Adrian's Instagram or read my in-depth review of this course, you'll know he's a huge art fan and gets custom designs for his homes.

photo of the art pole in adrian morrisons destin beach aparmtment

Perhaps not surprisingly, Adrian covers utilizing art licensing as a way of selling unique products. This is something you won't find covered in many other courses but has become extremely lucrative for those in the know.

There's a whopping 79 videos covering Facebook Ads training.

You get everything from setting up your ad account, installing pixels, audience targeting, and much more.

facebook ad set up ecom success academy by adrian morrison

Sadly, the big piece that's AWOL here is his Facebook bidding strategy.

This is what has powered the big numbers he's pulled and it's an essential part of any Facebook ads campaign.

Get your bidding strategy wrong and you’re throwing your money at the wall hoping it sticks.

examples of facebook bidding strategies

Other modules here include email marketing, project management tools, and outsourcing to VAs.

There's a "bonus content" section too. It's mostly a few guest speakers who present on things that were already covered but there's a small nugget or two to be had if you have the time to sit and watch them.

eCom Success Academy could be the right fit for you if:

1. Franklin Hatchett's eCom Elites

IMO this is a class move - there are so many people who play on #FOMO and threaten to charge full whack if you don't sign up right now for the biggest package.

As you'll see, providing value for his students is part of Franklin's M.O.

Who is the man from New Zealand then?

Franklin Hatchett has been in the dropshipping industry since 2009 and has plenty of street cred.

His initial foray into online marketing involved ranking websites and selling ad space on them.

Not content with that, he tried affiliate marketing next.

It was going fine and dandy until the affiliate company shut down.

Finally, he stumbled upon dropshipping and using Facebook Ads to hit the jackpot.

ecom elites franklin hatchett holding an award from clickfunnels

Well, not quite...it took time, effort, and perseverance.

Franklin doesn't try to sugarcoat entrepreneurship or dropshipping, points out how it takes time and hard work to produce results.

With Franklin being a Kiwi, some of the info on business and taxes is based on New Zealand law.

While you'll need to do a bit of research if you're based somewhere else, at least he's bringing these important issues to attention.

Franklin Hatchett has provided a rare combo of content and value here with his eCom Elites Course. There’s one catch here though which I’ll share at the end.

eCom elites franklin hatchett on a snow covered mountain with a helicopter in the background

The training kicks off with a section on developing an entrepreneurial mindset and the habits required for lasting success.

The modules on product research and sourcing are very impressive and runs for over 4 hours.

franklin hatchett's ecom elites course

The Shopify training guide is great for newbies and goes one step at a time.

The Facebook training is very comprehensive but his scaling strategy is a bit too cautious for me.

facebook ads training with franklin hatchett ecom elites

There are training modules on various marketing channels and tactics including Instagram, email marketing, ChatBots, and sales funnels.

The Ultimate package also provides Google Ads Academy, sales funnel training and a couple of ebooks detailing Hatchett's top-selling niches and products.

One important thing to mention here is Hatchett is an affiliate marketing Jedi - he has an entire course dedicated to it.

When you get into the store building part of ecom elites, Franklin teaches it using his own Shopify theme which you have to pay for if you want to use it.

Yes, you can probably figure out how to build a store without that template, it just takes more work. I think it would have been nice to have the option to follow along with a free template.

eCom Elites could be the right fit for you if:

Conclusion

Hey, I hope you enjoyed this list of top dropshipping courses, you really can't go wrong with this list especially the top 4, I learned a lot from each of them.

Ecom elites is so affordable yet covers so much so if you're short on funds that's a great program to start with. However, I do like eCom Success Academy because of the on-going support.

I've made my fair share of $$$ with drop shipping but after grinding at it for 1.5 years I've realized that this biz model is not that great long-term because Facebook ads are just so unreliable.

I invested a lot in these courses but regardless of all the tips & tricks from these coaches, there's nothing you can do about the fact that Facebook can keep shutting your account down with no warning and your CPC ad cost can go up overnight as your competitors copy your Shopify store and go into the same niche as you.

This is why today, I have quit dropshipping altogether and do local lead generation instead. Click on the link below where I go in-depth on the main reasons why I believe Local Lead Gen is a better business model than dropshipping...

If you truly want a legit way to escape the grind of a 9-5, you owe it to yourself to take a closer look.

MARKET SATURATION

Literally anyone can get into dropshipping with hardly any effort or upfront cash. Regardless of what you're selling, you'll likely be competing with millions of other sellers in an extremely saturated market.

LOW BARRIER OF ENTRY & PLAGARISM

Plagiarism is rampant in dropshipping. It's far too easy for your competitors to copy your ads, your sales funnels, and even your Shopify store. Be assured that if you find a successful product, you will be copied and then undercut by your competition.

HIGH RISK

Advertisements have no guarantee of being profitable - and one should expect to occasionally have campaigns that fall short of expectations (which can cost thousands of dollars).

LOW PROFIT MARGINS

Facebook's ad prices have doubled this last year. Successful dropshippers can expect to profit roughly 8-15%, which only really works if you're selling major volumes of product.

NO LONG-TERM ASSETS

The key to long term wealth is in building and owning valuable assets, but with dropshipping, you own nothing. You're an enslaved middleman to Shopify, Facebook, and Google. Their ad and metrics systems are unreliable and ever changing - and account deactivations are a way of life in eCommerce.

HIGH MAINTENANCE

Ads must be developed and then monitored - and failing to do so could mean unprofitable ads or, even worse, ad account suspension.

RELIANT ON TRENDS

Trending items are most often the only products that have a profitable ROI. Many businesses meet their ends on the fall of whatever trend they were capitalizing on.

CUSTOMER COMPLAINTS

Shipping from China takes six weeks, so expect lots of customer complaints and chargebacks (which are deducted from your bank account).
