Ben Oberg is a successful entrepreneur & founder of the Millionaire Mafia training and mentoring programs. He enjoys massive popularity with his 'benoberg' Instagram account where he shares motivational messages and lifestyle photos as a self-made millionaire.
According to his website bio, Ben Oberg graduated high school with a 3.6GPA. After graduation, he spent four years in professional sales.

Basically, digital marketing refers to any online marketing efforts or assets.

While you can reach a global audience with digital marketing, you are also up against global competition. 

Ben fails to mention anything about competition and what a cut-throat industry it is. Starting out as a small fish in the ocean of SMMA's is NOT for the feint of heart or those not willing to work their butts off.

It’s challenging to stand out against competitors & grab their attention among the many messages.

Ben teaches you nothing that's really gonna make you stand out.

13. Target Market

Using Instagram, you need to know that you will only be targeting a Limited Audience. Ben doesn't mention this...

Yes, Instagram has a huge active monthly user base with about 800 million active users. BUT, this audience is mainly made up 18 to 29 year olds, so, if your product is for a different demographic... 

14. Do Ben Oberg's Students Actually Make Money?

Well, this should actually be listed under another negative / con of the course. 

I cannot find any testimonials from Ben's students. There's nothing on the course website.

There's nothing on YouTube. 

Draw your own conclusions... Maybe Ben feels he doesn't need them.

15. Who's a Good Fit for Instagram Marketing 3.0

The Instagram Mastery 3.0 is for anyone who wants to start advertising/marketing on Instagram. Instagram has been proven to be great for growing businesses - IF you have a product or service that's aimed at a younger crowd.

If you don't mind learning a new skill and you don't have the marketing budget of a big company to hire a professional to do your Instagram Marketing for you, then this course is certainly an option. 

16. What alternatives are there to Ben's Instagram Marketing 3.0?

If you want to learn more than just about Facebook Ads & Instagram posts then Paid Traffic Mastery by Molly Pittman might be a good fit for you.
 
You’ll get training on advertising platforms such as Google, YouTube & even LinkedIn (not many LinkedIn courses out there)

This course is currently available for $495.
Another option is 6-Figure Facebook Ads Agency by Billy Willson. If you're looking to expand beyond just one niche, this is one to consider..
 
It’s an easy course to follow & Billy does a good job in sharing proven funnels for different niches. There’s also a really good section on cold calling.
 
Billy’s course is currently available for $1 500 though… Ouch.

How Does Social Media Marketing Stand up to Others? Like Dropshipping, & Lead Generation?

I’ve learned a few things during my numerous dabbles in online biz models.One of the main things I’ve learned is that different biz models suit different people.

Each biz model comes with their own set of pros & cons. In the end, it’s really up to you to do your homework & see what’s gonna be best suited for your personality type.

If you’re struggling to figure just how to do this, then I can highly recommend MJ DeMarco's book, The Millionaire Fastlane.

If you’re serious about business, then trust me – this book has got to have a top spot on your must-read list.

Great, but how’s it gonna help me NOW?

Simple, for now, just follow MJ’s C.E.N.T.S model: Control, Entry, Need, Time, Scale.

Just applying this one simple technique will already prove invaluable in helping you pick which biz model works for you.

For today, let’s focus on just two of these…

18. Entry:

Lead generation is all about initiating consumer interest in your products and services (i.e. the first two stages of the buyer’s journey). In contrast, digital marketing addresses the entire buyer’s journey.

19. Need:

Initiating consumer interest is the process of getting people interested in what you have to sell (creating demand); lead generation is the task of turning that interest into names and contact details (leads) that you or your sales teams can follow up with.

CONCLUSION

 
Instagram Master 3.0 is definitely for beginners who have no prior experience of Instagram. Ben takes you through all the steps from the very start of setting up your IG Account to more advanced topics such as building a High Ticket Client Closing Sales Funnel. 

Later modules are more advanced and even someone with prior IG experience will benefit from them.

Overall, if you are looking to learn ONLY about Instagram marketing, then this is a good course.

The price point though, might be wrong for most students.

Also, I wouldn't hedge all my bets on only Instagram...

pARTING THOUGHTS ON DIGITAL MARKETING

19. Ben's Course works, but Generating Leads is Better, Here's Why:


Digital marketing and lead generation are two different things, but they’re not completely unrelated either. Every effective digital marketing campaign that touches on every stage of the marketing funnel must include a solid lead generation strategy, ensuring that prospects are nurtured into becoming customers.

Lead generation, however, is both a science and an art. And it's MUCH more effective.

Lead generation is all about initiating consumer interest in your products and services (i.e. the first two stages of the buyer’s journey).

In contrast, digital marketing addresses the entire buyer’s journey.

It's also hella more expensive than FREE organic traffic.

It takes MORE TIME to implement and ANYONE can copy your ad campaigns and methods.

And finally, your client retention is terrible. Lead Gen however, is the opposite.Your CLIENTS seek you out, not the other way around...

You make business partners who later become friends.
