KEVIN DAVID:
MARKETING AGENCY PROGRAM

article summary - Key points

About:

Relying a a series of quick tutorials and a PDF guide, Kevin David's course will show you the basics of Facebook Marketing with particular emphasis on setting up the FB Pixel.

Price:

$37, but there's lots of upselling.

Pros:

Kevin is a master motivator and always presents well organized and thoughtful instructional material.

Cons:

Outdated. Has not been updated since Apple's ban on Facebook and Instagram ads. The course is branded as a freebie, but fully intends on roping you into Kevin's other courses, some of which cost well over $1000.

Verdict:

If you're a newcomer to Facebook advertising and want a cheap but informative course, then you really can't go wrong. But keep in mind, the Facebook ads business model is not only expensive, but dated. It's extremely difficult to make money with a work-at-home ads agency in 2021.

LEGIT OR SCAM?
READ BELOW FOR FULL REVIEW.

1. What is the Marketing Agency Program?

Digital marketing is a legitimate way to make six-figure salary in 2021.

Most small businesses do not know how to advertise effectively on social media. It's something that takes time and expertise.

Small business often contract marketing agencies to do the work - and spend a lot of money doing so.

This, of course, is something you can do from your home - and those who really know what they're doing can make a great living.

I've been running my own agency since 2014 - and am quite fortunate to have done well.

There are a lot of difficulties and headaches with the business model, though. And thus, a few years back, I switched my primary focus to Lead Generation (which you can read more about below - or click to learn more).

Kevin David's popular new course will show you how to take your Facebook expertise and turn it into a legitimate ads agency; a business that will free you of your 9-5 shackles.

You will learn how to sell your services and pick up new clients, set up profitable ads, and utilize the Facebook pixel for retargeting.

The best part about the Marketing Agency Program?

It's super affordable (but we'll get to that shortly). There's a ton of valuable info in this article.

Stick with us if you want to know more about Kevin David's course and if creating a digital marketing agency is right for you!

2. Who is Kevin David?

Kevin David is one of the most popular names in online courses.

He’s created successful programs teaching the ins and outs of Shopify, Amazon FBA, Clickfunnels, and more!

Learn More About Kevin David

After graduating Summa Cum Laude from Oregon State Honors College, Kevin David began his career working as an Accountant for PriceWaterhouseCoopers, an accounting firm in Portland, Oregon.

Although a seemingly prestigious position with nearly 500 applicants for only one consulting position, Kevin quickly realized that working 80 hour weeks for someone else was not the life he was meant to live.

Kevin transitioned careers and began working as a Privacy Consultant at Facebook in Menlo Park, California. Kevin, like many others, had always dreamed of working at Facebook; they are known for having some of the most generous employee perks in the world, Including on-site doctors & free food!

While this job was a significant improvement to his prior career, Kevin again knew that he was not destined to work for anyone else, regardless of the extravagant perks.

It was at this time Kevin started to meaningfully explore online sources of income and how he could free himself to travel the world and live life on his own terms.

After extensive research and experimenting with some online options, Kevin stumbled upon Amazon. Amazon was leading the ecommerce industry which made him grab the opportunity. One month later he launched his first Amazon product that was just the start of building an online empire.

Kevin David comes out as a leading amazon seller and an expert in Entrepreneurship after years of experience and knowledge.

He is present on most social media platforms, including Facebook, Youtube, Instagram and even runs his own podcast.

3. How does the Marketing Agency Course's Business Model Work?

Kevin's course assumes you already know how to create a great ad campaign.

But knowing the ins and outs of Facebook advertising doesn't make you any money if you don't have don't have any clients to advertise for.

What's great about this course is that he goes over, in detail, how to land those clients via email and over the phone.

Nothing is more important in sales than a phone.

This is your most powerful weapon. All your other skills are moot if you're unwilling to get on the phone and start making calls.

Kevin also provides a number of tools, such as "Market Management" and "ManyLeads" which you can use to target your clients (they are expensive, though).

The basic strategy is to find clients who do not have Facebook Pixel installed on their website.

If they aren't using a pixel, it is a clear indication that they're likely not the most skilled when it comes to digital marketing.

Think Lawyers, dentists, realtors, ect...You're looking for rich clients who could use some help with the tech side of advertising... those are the low hanging fruit that Kevin recommends focusing on.

You will make money by charging a monthly fee.

Kevin usually uses $1000 per month as his reference, but it obviously is a case by case basis. Now, how do you make the most money for your client?

By making effective ads... Which includes spending as much of your client's money as possible on retargeting.

Remember, retargeting focuses on customers who are already interested in the product or service they're being advertised to.

It's going to take a lot of trail and error.

And if you're a newcomer, you're going to need to invest in more training than this course will provide.

But if you can land the clients and have the skillset to develop and run effective ad campaigns, this business model is as about as legit as it gets when it comes to Digital Marketing.

4. Is the Marketing Agency Program a Scam?

No, It's most definitely not a scam...

In fact, Kevin spends the entire first video trying to motivate you, explicitly stating this is not a get rich quick scheme.

You will make mistakes. You will be hung up on. You will lose clients. You will fall short of your expectations.

Kevin asks us to re-frame failure as feedback.

What did I do wrong that I can correct upon in the future?

Imperfection is part of the learning process - and as someone who's been in digital marketing for a long time, there is no easy path. You must learn to accept responsibility for yourself.

Everything that happens to you, is because of you.

There is no room for those who make excuses in this line of work.

Pick yourself up, do the hard word, improve upon your mistakes, and never give up. He or she who can do this will set themselves apart from those who cannot. It is they who will find success.

5. How Much Does the Marketing Agency Program Cost?

The best part of Kevin David's MAP is that it is really inexpensive.

Kevin has stated that this course is in a testing phase, therefore he is offering it for $37.

It's also completely free on UDEMY.

He apparently has plans to flesh out MAP into a fully fledged course and will raise the price later on.

The reality is that this course only trains you on how to acquire clients and get your business started and a very basic level.

MAP does show you how to use the pixel - and the basics of retargeting and FB analytics, but a ton of essential technical and method-based information is left out that is imperative to running effective ads.

He happens to have another course (FB Ads Ninja Masterclass) which is massively comprehensive (and also massively priced at $1400-$1997).

It's clear to me that his intention is to rope people in using MAP in the hopes that his students will purchase FB Ads Ninja down the line.

There's nothing wrong with this. Both are great courses. It's just something to keep in mind if you're planning on taking the Marketing Agency Program.

PROS OF THE MARKETING
AGENCY PROGRAM

6. Kevin is an Inspiring, Enthusiastic Instructor.

I would consider myself an expert of very few things.

But I have taken all of Kevin's courses. I can say confidently that I am a Kevin David expert...

Honestly, at first, I found him kind of abrasive.

I'm a cynic at heart - and maybe I was just turned off to what I thought was fake-enthusiasm.

But as I've gotten to know Kevin through his courses, I've really come to appreciate him as a person and as teacher.

He really knows his stuff - and he believes that what he is selling is of great value. He puts a ton of effort into everything he does and his courses are no exception.

If you buy a Kevin David course, you're getting a product that is better than 99% of what is out there.

You can say goodbye to having to sift through terrible Youtube videos with their six minute intros (that lead to nothing more than an affiliate plug).

For real, though, if you can comfortably afford his marketing courses, like MAP, you're getting something that is uniquely valuable; taught by someone who both knows his area of expertise and also knows how to teach it.

Kevin wants to bring you up to his level.

Although, if you drink as much coffee as he probably does, you may end up overdosing...

7. MAP is Extremely Affordable

It's $37 - and free on UDEMY. Courses of this sort under $500 do not exist.

You really have nothing to lose.

You can get through the entire course in half a day.

If you've been on the fence about purchasing his Facebook Ads Ninja course, then this may be a great starting place.

It's low risk, low cost, and contains a ton of really valuable information and assets.

8. Provides Grounded, Tried & True Sales Advice

There's a section in one of the later modules where Kevin recommends attaching a video sales pitch to your emails, customized for the prospective customer.

Some may think it overkill.

But it's this kind of detail that Kevin recommends that sets him apart.

It is actions like that will net you clients where others would fail.

The biggest takeaway from the Marketing Agency Program is the sound sales advice, bar none. He provides a ton of different scripts for you to use and make your own; scripts that he proved to be effective while building his own businesses. Getting on the phone, I'd reckon to say, is the biggest hurdle for most digital marketing hopefuls. It can be tough talking to strangers, much less trying to sell them something...But hey lays it all out for you in a simple, digestible format that really anyone could use.His sales advice is well worth the price of admission. People spend tens of thousands to learn this stuff...

9. Course is Succinct & Well Designed

Kevin does a fantastic job of packing a bunch of information into a succinct package that respects your time.

Some of his other courses, while massively comprehensive, suffer from getting a little muddled and repetitive.

Sure, there's a lot of information, but after 20+ hours of video content in addition to everything else, the redundancies can start becoming apparent (especially in the later sections).

This course, however, is quick and to the point . It gives you just what you need to get your business up and running and start landing clients.

Cons of the Marketing Agency Program

10. There is a Ton of Upselling

If you sign up for the services that Kevin recommends that you use, you're looking at spending $100-150 a month.

Marketer Magic alone is $97 a month.

Granted, they're incredibly useful programs, but if you want to do exactly what he shows you in this course, you need to be prepared to make some hefty purchases.

I'm pretty sure he's an affiliate for these programs. There are likely other systems out there that do the same thing, likely for free.

In addition, as I've stated before, this course is not going to show you how to use the full capabilities of Facebook's advertising systems.

He low key pitches his FB Ads Ninja course, which contains $1400 worth of missing information that, quite frankly, is necessary to be successful in this line of work.

I don't blame him for upselling. I mean, MAP is only $37 right now, but it's just something to be aware of.

11. MAP is Not Going to Show You the Tech Secrets to Digital Marketing

Yeah... you're going to have to pay extra for that.

Kevin likes to sell his courses as life changing.

For some, they may very well be. He's a pretty inspiring dude and definitely knows how to make a course.

But don't think you can just buy this course and expect to be a master.

The FB Ads system is complex. Ad campaigns, ad copy, split testing, analytics, insights, ect...

These are thing you will need to master if you have any hope what so ever of being able to make it as a digital marketing.

Keep in mind, you'll likely be spending your clients money on these ad campaigns.
If they're not effective, you'll find yourself in an embarrassing situation where your ads aren't getting the traction that your client believes they should.

Creating an effective ad campaign is an art form in of itself - and it takes years (and a lot of trail and error to master it).

Fortunately, there are a ton of free courses online that'll show you the ropes if you don't have the $1400 to shell out for his other course, Facebook Ads Ninja.

12. Digital Marketing Does Not Scale Well

If you think you can scale our Facebook Ads agency infinitely, you are wrong.Let me tell you from experience. If you're good, making $5000 a month is totally doable, but after 6-8 clients, the work really starts piling up.I was personally spending about 40-50 hours a week with 8 clients and that was with assistance. Never mind the additional 20-30 hours a week I was spending working on my other businesses. It was exhausting. I ended up having to outsource much of the work to virtual assistants - and finding a good assistant is a challenge. You'll go through 1-2 bad ones before you find someone actually worth their time.If you find a good one, give them a raise and treat them with respect. They are immensely invaluable. My point is, at the end of the day digital marketing is an hourly job. After a year or two, you'll find yourself exhibiting the fluency that being successful demands - and to hand off your work to other clients may jeopardize the quality that you have spent so long trying to master. If you find great employees, then power to you. Easier said than done.If you're happy making $60-80k a year, then this will be a great venture for you, but breaking the ceiling comes with it many new challenges. At the end of the day, no matter what you do, you'll be an hourly employee. This is not a residual income type of job. It will always require your presence, your involvement, in order for you to make money.

13. FB Advertising Comes With an Expensive Learning Curve

You can take course after course, but nothing teaches you quite as effectively as failure. As Kevin so eloquently puts it, reframe failure as feedback. Because making mistakes costs money, but they also provide a valuable learning opportunity. If you're someone who folds when they screw up, find something else to do. There is a long trial and error period that courses are simply unequipped to prepare you for.Keep in mind, ads cost money. You'll likely be spending your clients money. Could even consider it gambling. It's very difficult to know what is going to be effective. For instance, I was working with a men's clothing brand when I started out. I spent thousands of dollars advertising the clothes to men. Seems logical, right? But for some reason the ads just were not performing well. I spent weeks diving into the analytics. Testing dozens of different variations of the ad campaign. The whole time I was wasting my clients money. One day, as I was coming up with excuses for my failure - I found, right in front of me in the pixel data, that nearly 80% of the customers were in fact female. I was so absorbed in trying to advertise men's clothes to men, that I missed the blatantly obvious insights. The women were buying the clothes for their boyfriends and husbands. Duh.

I know you probably think me a fool. But I'm telling you. Stupid stuff like this will happen - and it's going to cost you time and money, lots of it, to figure it out. When failure inevitably finds you - don't get down. Be rational and objective. If you can own your mistakes and learn from them, you're already on the fast track to living the good life.

14. Does Not Come With a Good PDF Companion Guide

Kevin's videos? They're great! But man, I wish there was a companion PDF guide to go along with them.Every other course he's made includes one. Now, maybe he's still working on it. This course is fresh after all. Maybe it will be included in his $999 version of the Marketing Agency Course...But as it currently exists, the course is sorely lacking a PDF guide. Every module I found myself wishing I had a guide to refer to. They really are helpful. Anyhow, maybe at some point he will include one, but it doesn't in its current form. I gotta give the course a knock for that.

Is the Marketing Agency Program Right for You?

15. Are Other People Making Money Through the Marketing Agency Program?

The simple answer? Yes.

Many people have found success in digital marketing.

But I can promise you it was not overnight success - and that rings true for both billion dollar agencies and independent agencies alike. This stuff takes time. You will try and you will fail. Those that can deal with the trials in positive ways, those who can learn from their mistakes, those who can make 500 cold calls in a day, those who can respond two to three times with every lead, those who know how to teach themselves...Those are the people who will find success. I'll save you from having to look at Kevin's poorly formatted gif testimonials posted all over his website.I promise: you can make money doing digital marketing. But it is going to take everything you have got. It will never get easier, because the more you scale, the more work you will inevitably encounter. If you can do what it takes, then you have a good chance of making your aspirations happen.

16. Is the Marketing Agency Program Good for You?

No, I don't mean is it healthy for you...But rather, is this program right for you?Let me phrase it this way...The Marketing Agency Course is the right fit for you if:

  • You already have a foundational understanding of how to develop, create, and publish a successful social media ad campaign
  • You are willing to part with a few hundred additional dollars (on top of Kevin's sticker price) for his affiliated software which the entire course is based on
  • You are willing to shell out an additional $1400 if you don't have a solid background in FB ads.
  • You understand how competitive this field actually is
  • You understand that there is a glass ceiling. Digital marketing is only scalable by hiring outside help - which may compromise your service.
  • You understand that you will likely always be an hourly employee of your own business. You must always be present to make money.
  • You have the work ethic, determination, audacity, and resourcefulness that digital marketing requires.

If you can say yes to all of this, then yeah, this course is likely worth it.But if you can't say yes to all of the above, take my advice and pass.

17. What Alternatives Exist to the Marketing Agency Program?

Kevin has some strong competition.Could their courses provide a better option for you? Let's check a few of them out.First off, let's start with Billy Willson's Six-Figure Ad Agency program.

Billy became very successful at a young age and, like Kevin, has come to understand that the real money is in teaching others how to be successful. Comparatively, Billy's course is as if you combined Kevin's MAP and his Ads Ninja course together. All and all they cost about the same (Billy's course costs $1500). He makes some great content, too. You'll go over ad copy, split testing, retargeting, and of course, how to get your business up and running.Billy gives some live sales examples; videos of the act as it happens, which is really helpful - and something Kevin's course does not do. Next, let's take a gander at twins, Larry and Perry Wu, who have been in the agency game for over decade.

Their Facebook Ads Agency Accelerator course runs 8 modules deep, but moves along quickly. What's great about this course is that it caters to those with little FB marketing experience. Kevin holds off on giving you certain details in hopes you'll buy another one of his courses, where the FB accelerator contains just about everything you need.Although, it only really covers Facebook ads, whereas Billy's course includes Google and YouTube advertising. It's also a bit cheaper at $997, making it a great option for those who are short on cash and are looking for a course that will cover content from the ground up.

18. Pros and Cons of the Marketing Agency Program

The Good and Bad of Kevin David's Course

Pros

  • Kevin is an Inspiring, Enthusiastic Instructor
  • The Course is Extremely Affordable
  • Course is Succinct and Well-Designed
  • Provides great templates, scripts, and real world examples.
  • The recommended software is relevant and highly useful for 2021

Cons

  • There is A Lot of Upselling
  • Course is Not Going to Show You the Tech Side to to Digital Marketing
  • Digital Marketing Does Not Scale Well
  • FB Advertising Comes With an Expensive Learning Curve
  • Does Not Come With a Good PDF Companion Guide

Conclusion

The MAP course is great for those who already have a solid background in Facebook marketing who are interested in training that will guide them through an agency startup, client acquisition and retention, and who desire a compact and efficient course design.

Prospective customers just need to understand that they'll likely find themselves spending much more than the $37 list price. Kevin fully intends on his students investing in his more comprehensive FB Ads Ninja course at $1400 - and you'll need to spend at least a few hundred dollars a year on additional software.Kevin's course is well made and provides valuable skills, but offers very little assurance of success, even to the most spirited and auto-didactic individuals.

Digital marketing is highly competitive and is burdened by a firm glass ceiling. Simply put, it's difficult to expand and will demand great amounts of time and money to get going. To make money, you have to spend a lot of your client's money (and your own money) - and there is no guarantee of a profitable return.

While I'll believe Kevin David has made a great course, as someone who who has dedicated years to FBA, I could not confidently recommend the business model in 2021.

This is the exact reason I have switched to Lead Generation. It's infinitely scalable, offers a great service to local businesses, and actually provides passive income.

If you're determined enough and posses the skills and mindset required for an endeavor such as FBA, I'd say go ahead and give it a try. Most will fail, however, and if you succeed, it will be a victory hard fought. As I stated, I would absolutely steer my friends towards Lead Generation if they asked me advice about the FBA business model.

Below, we'll discuss how the two business models stack up against each other - and why, ultimately, I believe that Lead Gen should be the focus of your attention in 2021.

19. How Does the Marketing Agency Course Stand up to Lead Generation?

While there are many ways to get into Digital Marketing, few are as lucrative as the guru's would like you to believe.I got involved in Digital Marketing early on - and certainly, if you play your cards right, there is ample opportunity to make a buck. But how does Facebook Advertising compare to other forms of Digital Marketing, like Lead Generation?I bring up Lead Gen because it's where I've made by far the most money - and thus I find it to be a great benchmark against other forms of online business. We'll be comparing the course using the C.E.N.T.S. model coined by master businessman, MJ Demarco.

What does C.E.N.T.S. stand for, you ask?

Do you have control over your business? What is the barrier for entry?Does your business or product fulfill a need of the consumer? To what level can you effectively scale your business? Does your business require a lot of your time?Few books have been more inspiring and influential than "The Millionaire Fastlane." Without MJ's teachings, it's hard for me to imagine my life as it currently is. Knowledge is power, ya'll - and this book is worth every penny. Anyhow, we'll be using pieces of his framework to briefly analyze the Marketing Agency Program against Lead Gen.

20. Digital Marketing Does Not Scale Well

We've talked about it at length, but once again, the more you try to scale your digital marketing business, the more work you will find yourself with. You'll need to hire more and more outside help, which will increase you operation costs and potentially compromise the quality of your services. You also don't really own anything. You are performing a service for, more a less, an hourly wage. Clients can drop you whenever you want. Facebook algorithms can change. You're at the mercy of too many chaotic variables.Lead gen focuses on essential services, which are effectively recession proof.Once you create and rank your sites, the upkeep is marginal at best. Likely less than a few hours a month per site.So you sign your client, build and rank the site (which you own - the work is done up front) and then you can sit back and watch your bank account grow.Because of this, Lead Gen is infinitely scalable without demanding more and more of your time and resources, as most businesses typically do.

21. Digital Marketing Is Time Intensive

You need to stop selling your time for money - and instead find things to make you money so you can buy more time.Money comes and goes, but time is finite. Once you run out, that's it. Digital Marketing is time intensive from the get go - and continues to be time intensive as you grow. The more success you have, the more time you will have to put in.Lead Generation requires lots of time up front, but once you've done the work, the maintenance is super low. You literally get to sit back and watch the money flow in. I hardly touch my sites anymore. Maybe a few hours per month per site, which at this point I just have a VA perform maintenance duties. I still interface with clients, and yeah, I worked my frickin' butt off those first six months, but at this point there's not much work that needs to be done. I instead spend my time scaling my other businesses (and writing articles like this)!

22. Kevin's Course is Great, but Lead Generation is Better. Here's Why:

THERE ARE OTHER, MORE RELIABLE BUSINESS OPTIONS TO FREE YOURSELF FROM THE 9-5.

I’ve been involved with digital marketing for a long time now.

I have seen what works and what doesn’t. If my best friend came to me and asked for advice on what type of internet based business to get into? I’d direct him or her, without hesitation, towards Lead Generation.

LEAD GENERATION

1. Offers recurring revenue, as it is a service that is paid for monthly or by the lead. It is not a one and done sale.

2. You identify the best customers (businesses) in the market. There are no one star reviews, because you provide a service for 5 star companies.

Lead gen involves building simple websites (that you own), assigning that website a phone number, optimizing them to rank on google, and then selling those “leads” to local businesses, such as tree removal, plumbing, electrical services, ect.

Start up costs for a single website with a phone number, which total roughly $30 a month.Ranking websites is where your sharpened work ethic comes in. It’s also free, because it’s something you can do. In my six+ years of doing this, I have ranked hundreds and hundreds of websites. Each website generates between $500-$2500 a month. One of my first websites was the tree service site shown below. They've been paying me $2000 a month for over 5 years now.

 LANSING TREE SERVICE

From my leads alone, I am making over $50k a month. But I had help.

I large portion of my success, however, is due to my mentors and the relationships I made along the way.

As with any business, it takes determination and focus and the willingness to be a self starter. I became part of a supportive and intelligent group of people who took part in an incredible coaching program.

I learned more about myself and about business than I ever did at Michigan State University.

Do yourself a favor right now. Learn how I quit my 9-5 and now generate long-term passive income with lead generation.
