You've likely landed here because you've seen a J.Rich video or heard about this young fella & his dropshipping course.

I love the freedom that comes from making money online!

I've either tried, or extensively researched, every opportunity out there - I'm going to save you the work & spill the beans here on this site to make it easy for you.

Tbh, I think dropshipping is past its prime for the best opportunity so I'll let you in on a few secrets along the way too.

Let's go!

1. What is Shopify Dropshipping?

Chances are you’ve ended up on this page because you’re (hopefully) doing some due diligence before embarking on your (as promised from various YouTube ‘Guru’s’) soon to be, very successful dropshipping empire…

The promises of dropshipping gurus have tempted many would-be entrepreneurs with stars in their eyes. And trust me, there are MANY of them.

But is J Rich one of them?

What exactly does he offer with his training?

Once you’ve signed up for Shopify Dropshipping, you’ll receive access to 60+ step-by-step videos. That adds up to plus/minus 10 hours worth of video content.

Rich is another advocate for high-ticket dropshipping. This is a really good concept & one that I’ve personally used to achieve moderate success while still in the dropship game.

For those who are unfamiliar with the high-ticket dropshipping concept, let me explain how it works.

Let’s say you are selling hot new Yoga pants @ $15, making yourself a massive $5 profit…now let’s say things have been going tremendous & you sell 200 pants.

Well done, you made a $1k profit.

On the flip side of that coin, you’ve now decided to start selling little electric scooter @ $500 a pop… You're now making $250 profit per scooter…& that means, yes folks, you’ve got it – you’ve got a winner…after selling a mere 4 (yes, ONLY FOUR) scooters, you’ve also made $1K profit.

Focusing on products with a higher profit margin means you don’t have to sell as many.

This is high-ticket selling.

Basically, the idea behind high-ticket products is that you have much higher profit margins that you are not driven as much by volume.

It's the same concept as Anton Kraly's Dropship Lifestyle course (more on that later).

This is also a good method to utilize when building a brand or even using it when creating a one-product store.

You will also receive lifetime access to the 60+video’s, copy & paste templates, apps, plus all the strategies & methods discussed during the course.

You will also receive 2 custom-made Shopify Dropshipping stores, including one Niche Store with Low-Ticket Products & one with High-Ticket Products.

Finally, you will also get lifetime access to a Private Shopify Dropshipping Group Chat. This group consists of Rich & some other top dropshipping business owners.

You will be able to pick their brains & get some advice which is pretty handy to have.

2. Who is J Rich?

Jeraun Richards (aka J Rich) is a slightly intriguing individual with a pretty cool story about aiming for pro basketball to getting some good advice from the post office, which led him to where he is today.

So J Rich came across my radar a few years back when he brought out his first dropshipping course called 30day Ecom Challenge.

However, that course had nothing particularly exceptional nor unique about it. Nor was there any mind-blowing new strategies that he came up with, but I do remember it.

Why?

It was released with precisely the same price tag - $497.

But then J Rich did something I’ve never seen done before… He refunded all his clients that bought his course… & then he went & released it again - for free

I think that says a bit about his character right there.

Getting back to the man at hand, he started off buying stuff from China to sell on eBay; until a postal worker told him he should try dropshipping.

That way he doesn’t have to worry about shipping.

He took a while to achieve any form of success, but he finally found the right ‘it’ product (strapless bra’s on Instagram a few years back) & he ended up making a killing.

Since then, he has flaunted his wealth from time to time, using it to promote one of his courses.

But you know what? For a 23yr old who started from nothing just a few years back at only 18, & to be where he is now is unbelievable.

He's also done some nice things, like buy both his Mom & Granddad a car…

You gotta respect a guy who cares for his family.

(Which reminds me: it's super important that you join an ACTIVE business family group - you need someone to have your back, give advice, and bounce ideas off of.

3. How Does Dropshipping Work?

Dropshipping began gaining ground as a useful eCommerce business model in 2006when AliExpress started to gain popularity in the United States.

At that time, only a handful of entrepreneurs could answer the biggest question around this service: what is dropshipping?

As a result, only a few savvy retailers could take advantage of the low prices offered by AliExpress to launch online stores.

Dropshipping is an online retail order fulfillment model.

Instead of stocking products in your store (or in a warehouse), you purchase them directly from third-party suppliers and THEY ship them directly to your customers.

You never have to even touch the products you sell!

In theory, this eliminates a few major drawbacks that the store owner might have.

These include: finding a warehouse to store your products, maintaining inventory, & worrying about shipping directly.

4. Is Dropshipping Legit or a Scam?

First off, dropshipping is legal.

It’s a model of order fulfillment where the supplier handles shipping and the retailer handles sales.

So it's 100% legit.

Is it a scam? Well, yes & no.

There are people who have legitimately sold millions of dollars worth of products following the dropshipping business model.

Granted, they are few & far between.

Honestly, I think that those days of making new dropshipping millionaires in a matter of months have long since passed

If you decide to carry on down this road, please know that there are plenty of wolves out there just ready to get some money out of you…

So the business model is not a scam… & yes dropshipping is legal… but is it really worth it?

Well, now, you see… this is where my concerns start to come in with the biz model…

You are basically just selling overpriced cheap Chinese crap to people who don’t need it.

So if you have no objection to this, and believe that people are by and large suckers, then by all means – go mad Sam & I hope you make it kid, I honestly do…

5. How much does J Rich's Course Cost? Any Specials?

The course comes with a price tag of $497

This gives you lifetime access to the content plus the private group.

As a bonus, you'll also get 2x 'Custom-built just for you' dropshipping stores.

(Given how much it costs to pay for someone to build a good store, this is either a bargain or more of a plug and play template - I'll let you decide on that)

Pros of Shopify Dropshipping

6. J Rich is successful

J Rich legit made a ton of money doing dropshipping on Shopify long before he sold a course.

He is currently still making about twice monthly video tutorials & challenges on YouTube.

It seems to me that he still has his finger on the pulse & talks from experience.

7. Private Chat Group

You’ll get lifetime access to J Rich’s private chat group.

Giving you the opportunity to talk, question &/or harass some top dropshipping business owners into giving you some tips.

It's always a good idea to belong to a private group of like-minded business people.

Peers offer support and sometimes the necessary kick under the butt to get you going.

I strongly suggest finding a support group in your chosen biz model!

8. Custom Sites

Thanks to J Rich's fantastic team, you get NOT ONE, but TWO custom-built sites for you. J offers: "One Niche Store With Low Ticket Products AND 2 Niche Stores With High Ticket Products".

Meaning you get out of the gates at top speed!

9. Great support

J Rich states on his site that "Getting You Results Is My Core Focus."

This is evident from his pledge: "If you don't learn something that you wanted to learn, I will personally create a video on that topic and add it to the bonus section for free."

That's a hardcore promise from someone who wants his students to succeed.

Cons of Shopify Dropshipping

10. It's VERY basic training

So unless you’re a real fan of J Rich’s YouTube channel &/or have no idea about dropshipping or eCommerce, then you’re not going to find much value in this particular course, I’m afraid.

These days, you can find all of this info for free on Youtube or snooping around sites like Reddit.

11. The price tag’s a bit Rich

Haha...see what I did there?  (sorry...I couldn't resist!)

In all seriousness though.

Unless you're a J. Rich fan and want to throw him a little 'financial gratitude' you're probably going to find more value you for your 'dinero' elsewhere.

But let's be real...he probably doesn't need your money given how much he makes from dropshipping 😉

12. No Refunds

It’s always interesting to see which courses will issue refunds and which ones have very strict policies against it.

Sure, many of them are worried about having their course ripped but if they make other aspects of the program valuable and provide updates, video content on it's own isn't really the reason to buy it.

Now think about it...

If someone like Franklin Hatchett can have a 30-day money-back guarantee for eCom Elites, why can’t offers have a similar policy.

J.Rich's official statement his landing page:

"Due to the nature of the product, all sales are final. There are over 60 videos in the course in which I reveal a lot of sensitive information that can't be returned. This policy is in place to protect the intellectual property contained within this course."

13. Some questionable methods

Some are pro, and some are against high-price ticket dropshipping. I've tried it before and it goes well up to a point where other dropshippers catch-up to the fact that you have a winning product.

Then the price wars start, profits go down. It sucks...

Selling low-price items also has a HUGE con - you are PERMANENTLY looking for the next fad. Hot/trending products have a VERY short shelf-life...

Selling high-ticket products is a challenge too though.

It can be really difficult to find a supplier you trust to deliver top-quality items worthy of their price tag.

Concluding Thoughts

14. Do J Rich's Students Actually Make Money?

Well, to be honest, I can’t answer that.

There is no information on any of his students, not even a testimony or a recommendation on this official website… Bit odd right?

You’d think if his students were doing great & making money, they’d be happy to promote the man.

Bit of a Red Flag for me...

15. Who's a Good Fit for [Course Title]?

I would only advise complete beginners with little or no prior knowledge of dropshipping to consider this course… & then I’d say only if you are a fan of J Rich.

Fortunately, he has an active YouTube channel where you can get plenty of tips for FREE.

So, before you make a choice, go and look at some of his videos and see if something vibes with you.

16. What alternatives are there to J Rich's Shopify Dropshipping?

If you are, in fact, a complete beginner & want to get into dropshipping then I would recommend Franklin Hatchett’s eCom Elites Course.

eCom Elites is, in my opinion, is one of the best complete beginner-friendly courses that you will find. You can usually pick up for $197.

Which is much better value than the $497 of J’s.

If you are an experienced dropshipper but need some help fine-tuning your store, I would recommend Gabriel St Germain’s eCom Blueprint.

It’s more of an intermediate course for someone who has a bit of dropshipping experience but knows there's something missing to get to that next level.

Gabriel’s program carries some extra weight in my book because he uses his own real online stores to demonstrate his strategies.

These include his tactics for using Influencers and Facebook Ads to scale to 6 and 7 figure store sales volume.

If you already have a decent understanding of eCommerce, you’ll probably enjoy the case studies to see what he's doing differently to get results.

Pros and Cons of Shopify Dropshipping

The Good and Bad of J. Rich's Course

Pros
  • J. Rich's track record of success
  • Access to a private chat group
  • Includes custom built sites
  • Solid support channel
Cons
  • It's very basic
  • It's expensive given the level of training
  • Strict 'No Refunds' policy
  • The methods aren't going to suit everyone
Parting Thoughts on Shopify Dropshipping

Being straightforward here...

J. Rich is a cool guy and I love his energy.

Offering the level of support he does is a something a lot of course creators don't bother will.

BUT looking at the bigger picture...

I think the idea of selling fad products isn't smart these days...it's a race to bottom and the profit margins just aren't worth the effort.

There are much better ways to make steady money with less stress.

How Does Dropshipping Stand up to Others Like Affiliate Marketing & Lead Generation?

18. Need: Signs of Opportunity

One of the main reasons why businesses exist is to solve problems.

Let’s look at online shopping & take it as purely a form of order fulfillment. Does it solve problems?

Take Amazon, for example, cheaper quality products, a wider variety & faster delivery than most.

Now let’s take dropshipping & view it in the same light. Does it solve any problems?

Well, NO…the products are more expensive, predominantly of very poor qualify & delivery time is notoriously terrible.

Let’s have a look at Lead Generation. Does it solve any problems?

A definite YES. Lead Generation provides the leads that any & all small businesses need to generate sales & become profitable.

If you can grasp just how much wealth you can create by solving major headaches for other people, you are already well on your way to a much brighter financial future

Whether you make something better/simpler or simply bring people to the party, you add value, thereby creating a need.

19. Time

Time is a very precious thing & most people do not understand this.

Some of the wealthiest & most successful people in the world understand that trading your time for money DOES NOT WORK!!!

Please understand that this time for money scenario will not make you rich or independently wealthy unless it is by accident.

What do I mean by this; if you are a business owner, ask yourself this question –

Can my business operate or function without me having to be physically involved in making money?

If your answer is no, well, then you are trading your time for money.

Same as any other employee working for a company.

The only difference is now you don’t have medical, dental, paid holidays, or a guaranteed monthly salary.

The beginning stages of any business requires a lot of sacrifice, time & patience to get it established & functioning correctly for the foreseeable future.

However, when it comes to Dropshipping, you will be doing this on a continuous loop.

Dropshipping takes a lot of time. There’s scaling, ads, launches, finding the next product, etc… it never ends.

Compare that with lead generation.

It takes a little bit of upfront work to build a simple website and rank it at the top of Google’s search engine. But once it’s there and rented out, there very little work involved after that.

Instead, you can use your time to build more lead gen properties or spend time as you please with family, friends, or traveling. Whatever it is that makes you happy.

With Lead Gen, your site does the work for you while you enjoy your well-earned freedom from the 9-5 grind.

Closing Thoughts

I think J Rich has done very well for himself & that he will continue to succeed in eCommerce, hopefully for years to come.

He seems like a nice guy. He is open & friendly; he hooked up both his Mom & Granddad with some nice cars & he comes across like a sincere guy.

However, this does not mean that he is a good course writer, teacher, or guru in any shape or form you wanna put it.

There are many courses & YouTube videos out there that will provide you with a much deeper understanding & knowledge of what you require to succeed in the dropshipping business.

I would, however, seriously reconsider the entire dropshipping industry for a different eCommerce or online business model.

MARKET SATURATION

Literally anyone can get into dropshipping with hardly any effort or upfront cash. Regardless of what you're selling, you'll likely be competing with millions of other sellers in an extremely saturated market.

LOW BARRIER OF ENTRY & PLAGARISM

Plagiarism is rampant in dropshipping. It's far too easy for your competitors to copy your ads, your sales funnels, and even your Shopify store. Be assured that if you find a successful product, you will be copied and then undercut by your competition.

HIGH RISK

Advertisements have no guarantee of being profitable - and one should expect to occasionally have campaigns that fall short of expectations (which can cost thousands of dollars).

LOW PROFIT MARGINS

Facebook's ad prices have doubled this last year. Successful dropshippers can expect to profit roughly 8-15%, which only really works if you're selling major volumes of product.

NO LONG-TERM ASSETS

The key to long term wealth is in building and owning valuable assets, but with dropshipping, you own nothing. You're an enslaved middleman to Shopify, Facebook, and Google. Their ad and metrics systems are unreliable and ever changing - and account deactivations are a way of life in eCommerce.

HIGH MAINTENANCE

Ads must be developed and then monitored - and failing to do so could mean unprofitable ads or, even worse, ad account suspension.

RELIANT ON TRENDS

Trending items are most often the only products that have a profitable ROI. Many businesses meet their ends on the fall of whatever trend they were capitalizing on.

CUSTOMER COMPLAINTS

Shipping from China takes six weeks, so expect lots of customer complaints and chargebacks (which are deducted from your bank account).
